New Platinum Hair Extensions

I am so glad to see the back of Foxy Locks hair extensions! If you've been reading my blog, as you may know I absolutely despise these extensions....

I have finally got some new extensions!

I went to a local hair supply shop where I live and got these extensions by a company called Sapna, I've never heard of this company before but so far I am loving these extensions!

What extensions:

The ones I have are Sapna - Snow White extensions they are 113 grams of 100% human hair, and 18 inches long and they cost £45.99.

I brought them without clips, so you just get one long strand of hair. I used the Foxy Locks extensions to measure out the pieces to size before cutting them. Also, the reason I wanted to get them without clips is so that I could double them up (cut a strand twice then sew the two pieces together) so that they were thicker.

I also had to sewn on the clips myself; the clips are actually from my old set of extensions from 2012, I just cut them off. I also used 2 clips from the Foxy Locks set, because I was 2 short.

With this set I have managed to get the same amount of wefts as in the Foxy Locks set plus, they're doubled up so I have a full set of hair extensions:

2 x 4 clip wefts
2 x 3 clip wefts
2 x 2 clip wefts
4 x 1 clip wefts

Although because they're doubled up I find that I don't need to use both of the 4 clip wefts, but I tend to anyway just to have that fuller look.

They are also blunt cut at the ends, just like the foxy locks ones!

Colour:

As blonde girls will know trying to find platinum coloured hair extensions is quite hard. Many extensions are too golden, or too yellow. Not many extensions are actually platinum coloured, meaning that you have to either colour them or use silver shampoo on them.

However, these are different they actually are platinum coloured and are the same colour as the Foxy Locks extensions.

This photo has not been edited

In comparison to the colour of Foxy Locks - Platinum the Sapna - Snow White are practically the same. Although as you can see from the photo the Sapna ones are shiner; this is due to that, I've yet to wash them, so they're still coated in that shiney silicon stuff that all new extensions have.

photo not edited: foxy locks weft on top of a cut strand of sapna

What they look like wearing them:

So far I love these extensions! Although I've only worn them twice, and I am yet to wash them. However, I shall update you on how they are lasting!

Foxy Locks Update

I wasn't intending to post about this today but whilst getting ready I just felt like I had to.

Again I'm talking about the disappointment that is Foxy Locks Hair Extensions
If you follow my blog you'll know that I have posted quite a few times about them, and what my experience in dealing with the company has been like.

If you want to see my other posts on them look here:

A few words spring to mind when thinking about them:

  • Pathetic
  • Con
  • Waste
  • Overpriced
  • Vile
....and this is all due to them shedding, which Foxy Locks even acknowledged themselves as an issue that occurs with their extensions:

Foxy locks live chat back in June 2013!!!

This is them now after just a few weeks have past since my last post about them and since then I've only worn them twice. But they have deteriorated so much more since that post even though, i've hardly worn them; due to that they're so awful now that they are hardly wearable.

This is what they look like now:

All hair brought to the front.

As you can see they're just dreadful, so thin and awful!

L: August 2013           R:November 2013 (Last Night 12/11/13)
On both the photos above, all the hair is at the front. I brought them in June 2013 but above is a photo from August showing how they were after 3 months of shedding and now in November after 6 months worth of shedding.

After having my old extensions for a year, as I mentioned in my last post and never experiencing shedding with extensions before I am very disappointed with these extensions - I can't wait to get new ones after christmas, I will be glad to see the back of these!!!

Foxy Locks Update: 4 Months

As you may know, if you read my blog I really do despise the foxy locks hair extensions.

I have many other posts regrading my dreadful journey with Foxy Locks:

I had my old hair extensions; that weren't even 100% human hair for just over a year!

However, after 4months the foxy locks extensions are getting to the point where they are unwearable..... Which really annoys me because of how much I paid for them, as they're not the cheapest out there.

After foxy locks saying the shedding would subside within a week it hasn't if anything it has gotten worse as time has gone on. I've never had any other extensions like this in all the time I've worn them (about 4/5 years) nor had I ever even heard of shedding problems until these.

* all hair is placed ontop of a black towel for easy viewing and has been dryed naturally, not straightened and been brushed*

This is or was one of the 2 weft strands. After just four months it awful, thinning ends and loose hair at the stitching, the stitching is also really loose (probably the cause of the shedding).

This is it placed next too one of the thicker 1 weft strands, here you can tell the real difference of the shedding.

One thing that does help them too look thicker is brushing them with a Denman D81 brush instead of a paddle brush, extension brush or a wide tooth comb.

With this brush I find that it doesn't shed as much. Before I'd literally have hair balls on the comb or brush, however I still get balls of hair now but not to the same extent as before (see photo below).

I always brush them gently from the bottom upwards, I also have a hair styling qualification in which one module was solely on hair additions, so I know how to look after hair extensions properly.

However, you can't constantly brush them, and after a while of wearing them the 'thick' brushed look soon fades to stragly extensions. They shed even when I touch them, I literally leave a trail blonde hairs wherever I go!

Another problem I have with them is matting, knotting and tangling. When wearing them after so long they tend to get all matted and tangled at the back - which is an awful problem when trying to remove them at the end of the day as they tangle with your own hair ouch!

As you can see my non human hair extensions lasted extremely well.

And now this is what my foxy locks extensions are like in October:

Photo above is not at all edited and has been taken with an ipad. The lipstick in the photo above is mac rebel!

As you can see the effects of the shedding has worsened causing them to go thinner, much thinner than my natural hair at the top and, the ends are really thin and straggly and well just not nice at all really.

I will never again purchase extensions from Foxy Locks and I can't wait to buy some new ones!

Foxy Locks Update: 1 month

I've had these extensions for about a month now.

To be truthfully honest, I wish I'd never purchased them.

  • I've only worn them 3 times since getting them
  • They were expensive and well I'm not getting my moneys worth at all
  • They still shed A LOT of hair even though I've just worn them 3 times and not even a full day!
  • The ends are really thin from the shedding
  • They look really fake! Especially when straight
  • They get tangled
  • I feel really uncomfortable wearing them because I feel like people can tell they're fake
  • My time with the foxy locks company wasn't pleasant - no customer service -> never email you back
  • Still waiting months later to hear about my complaint processing
  • They've been a lot of hassle for nothing
  • I don't think they're 100% Human hair since human hair is meant to stay together and as you can see in the photo the ends separate like fake hair
  • I prefer my non-100% human hair extensions to these!!!
The only good thing I have to say about them is the clips - they're really sturdy and well sewn in.

I won't ever be re-purchasing from Foxy Locks ever again!

Foxy locks update (4 days of wearing)

After 4 days of wearing the extensions I have noticed that the hair does shed out quite a lot.

I've not styled it again since the first day I got them and curled them, so it can't be from over heating or styling. When ever I move my hair to the back or place it over to one side some hair sheds out.

I really hope that this doesn't last!

I messaged Foxy Locks to ask about it but it seems again that they're just full of excuses! I really do hope that the shedding stops and soon because it isn't good.

I also noticed that they have a new website - www.foxylockshair.co.uk and all the reviews are 5 stars, every single one - which to me seems a little fishy? also there is no more live chat they still only have the fill out message form - which I still never got an email back from it, nor have I heard anything about my complaints.

I honestly wouldn't of bothered ordering from their site knowing what I know now and after all the hassle.

Foxy Locks Update #4

Nightmare with Foxy Locks

After 11 days:

still no extensions,

no replies to my emails.

Last night, I went onto the Foxy Locks website, and they had the live chat working. I messaged them about my un answered emails and asking where my extensions are.

At first they said they hadn't received my old extensions that I'd sent them back 10 days ago. I told them I'd sent them and gave them the receipt information. They then gave me a lot of business rubbish about dispatching and so on. I asked how they'd managed to change my order tracking on the website from 60# Light Ash Blonde to 90# Platinum Blonde if they had not received my extensions and thus had not seen the returns form. They didn't answer my question directly, again fobbed me off with some business things.

I still had no clue if 1. They'd received the extensions or 2. If they were sending the others.

It was only until I actually said so you have received the extensions....yes? That they then said "that is correct". So after all that conversation ( which must of lasted at least half an hour ) that they then went back and contradicted themselves. At first they said they were still 'in receipt' of my old extensions, that they had not got them back to the end of 'that's correct' to ,y question that they had them. They never answered a question directly, and I do strongly believe that If I had not of said 'yes?' they wouldn't of said that they did have my extensions back. They made me feel like It was my fault that I had not sent them back, then confused me with their business jargon and not giving me direct answers to my questions. It was like getting blood out of a stone.

They said they'd email me soon to update me with my order - but I doubt that they will!

They also said that sending the extensions would of taken 2-3 days to deliver to me....So if they had the ones I sent back already, they should of sent the new ones too me and I'd of got them last week. But they made excuses about business things that I had no clue of understanding.

I'm still really not happy with their customer service. When I get the extensions if they're the wrong colour again I don't think I'll even bother to send them back, because of all this hassle. I doubt if I'll order anything again from them.

Foxy locks update #3

I am very disappointed with Foxy Locks.

Their customer service is well non-exsistant, I never did see a review that mention their customer service in detail; only on YouTube which they all said that shipping was fast!

I am still waiting for my exchanged colour now for over a week! I've heard from many people that they got theirs very quickly and one girl was from New Zeland! However, I live in the UK and still don't have them, I also sent mine back the same day I got them.

Since there is no human contact with foxy locks; no phone number, no direct email address. In order to ask them about what is happening I messaged them via their contact message form thing...I did that yesterday morning, and today still no email In response.

Due to the lack of contact they have with their customers I have no idea if

a) they even got my extensions I sent back - which hopefully they have since I had to pay to get them shipped back.
And
b) if they've even sent out the new exchanged colour.

I guess I'll just have to wait longer.

I'm not even sure however if platinum will be the right colour - they recommended ash blonde when I emailed them, when the extensions came in that colour they were way too yellow for my hair not ashy at all!

I hope they will be the right colour otherwise i will again have to pay to ship them back, since foxy locks don't give you a return sticker in the packaging or a returns form - you have to print out a returns form yourself after messaging them!! Which seems kinda stupid! I hope I'll get my money back quickly too, if it turns out they are the wrong colour.

Anyway, there's nothing I can do but wait....

Photo below shows my hair with the colour of 'ash blonde #90' extensions next to it.

Foxy Locks Extensions Review - Part 1

This morning I revived a pink parcel from the mail man and straight away I knew what it was!

I ordered it on Friday and it came the following Wednesday.

Pink Packaging - Very Girly
I couldn't wait to open it and see the extensions...however after opening it I could tell instantly that the colour wasn't right it was too yellow toned for my hair (even though I sent foxy locks a photo and they said that ash blonde #60 was right) I put the packet against my hair and well nooooooo not at all the right colour it was so yellow!

With Flash vs. Without Flash - Not Very 'Light Ash Blonde' if you ask me...
I went on their website and filled in the returns and exchange form, I waited and later on I got an email back telling me what address to resend them too and a returns/exchange form, it seems weird that it wasn't in the parcel already. Another thing that's weird is that there is only a help email address and not a telephone number to call for help, I've never had that before, when dealing with online orders.

Light Ash Blonde #60
I filled out the form, after printing it off and decided to exchange them for #90 Platinum blonde. Since light ash blonde was too yellow....although to be quite honest it wasn't very ashy at all, I'd hate to see what the bleach blonde and Imogen blonde looked like in real life, if 'light ash' was that yellow-y toned.

I also printed off the address to send it too as there wasn't a return sticker/label either - which is again slightly odd all the things I've ordered offline have came with them. I then went down to the local post office after crossing out my name and sticking the return address onto the parcel. The post office lady then told me that I had to pay to return it, again something that is never done....Now I live in the UK - the same place as where foxy locks is based and it cost me £3 to return the item at 2nd class! Needless to say I wasn't very pleased since I'd already paid for shipping when I brought the extensions, the extensions are expensive as it is and I really hope that the platinum blonde will be the right shade since I don't want to pay again to re-send them.

On a plus side the 120gram pack looks really thick! I think 160g would be far too much and I wouldn't end up using it all! They also looked really soft and they're really long and the cut at the bottom is nice and blunt and not straggly or anything. I do think they'd be really great extensions, at least I hope so....

Soft Looking & Nice Blunt Cut Ends.
Anyway.... I'll wait for the platinum extensions and hopefully they'll come soon....Probably next week though I assume....
