Great Autumn Nail Colours

Autumn is here and winter is fast approaching! Although I really wish it wasn't because I hate the cold weather and the depressing gloomy skies. 

Autumn reminds me of dark burgandy coloured leaves that fall off the trees, mugs of hot warming drinks with cream ontop and stormy purple skies, so why not reflect the season on your nails.

I've picked out some great nail polish colours for the season: 

Cream/Coffee Colours: Barry M Cappuccino,Barry M Lychee, Topshop Glimmer, Fearne Black Honey 

Reds: Nails Inc Victoria, Natural Collection Black Cherry, Barry M Raspberry 

Purples: Primark Beauty, Natural Collection Cosmic Crush, Nicole by OPI Make a Change, Fearne Cranberry Sparks 

The very top colour I found another copper colour - 17 Copper. 

Right now I am wearing Nails Inc Victoria I love this colour for Autumn it's so beautiful!

Teal Glitter Nails

I fancied something a bit different and glittery with my nails so I went for a teal nail look.

It's super easy and simple!

I've not really ever used this nail polish before although I got it after Xmas in the Boots half price sale it's a beautiful colour it's by Henry Holland it was in a gift set so I'm not sure you can buy it separately... The glitter I got ages ago at the 2011 IMATS! It seems like only yesterday I went there but I'd absolutely love to go again it was defiantly amazing! The glitter is by NYX - 05 Summer Breeze, I don't think I'll ever ever ever use it all up.

Here's how to create this look:

Step 1: apply a base coat (I just used Barry M clear nail polish)

Step 2: apply 2 coats of your preferred colour (wether it be teal or not...I used a Henry Holland nail polish, but it doesn't have a name)

Step 3: when dry apply a top coat (again I just used the Barry M one)

Step 4: when wet dip the nail into the pot of glitter and roll it side to side to cover the whole nail, slowly remove the nail from the pot and tap off the excess glitter over the pot. (I used NYX 05 Summer Breeze)

^ it's best to do the glitter on some sort of bored or folder that you can easily slide the glitter off and into the bin (as it does get quite messy!)

Step 5: apply 2 coats of top coat to seal in the glitter, it also helps give it a nice glossy finish.

Half moon nail tutorial

I saw this photo with this nail look on Pinterest and I loved it so I decided to recreate it.

1. Apply a base coat I used a clear nail polish by Rimmel

2. Apply a glittery gold polish all over the nails I used Barry M 339 Gold Glitter.

3. Wait for that to dry completely before putting a sticker onto the bottom of your nails - these are ring binder holders.

4. Apply pink polish over the top of the nail and the sticker.

5. Add a top coat!

the nail art on the white paint I used a hot pink nail pen (just from primark!) and drew out a little bow. I then put a lite pink gem in the middle and used the same pink as on my thumb as the inside then just added a hot pink gem!

Ombré nail tutorial

I change my nails more than I change my clothes....and that's a lot! This nail design is really simple and easy to do I'm not the best at nail art nor do I have any special tools, so anyone can do this!

Things you'll need:
- base coat
- white nail polish
- 3 shades of nail polish
- a metallic colour
- glitter nail polish
- top coat
- a sponge

I used pinks and gold with a gold glitter on top but you can use whatever colours you want it's really just down to personal preference.

1. Apply a base coat to all your nails.

2. Apply white nail polish to the nails you want to be ombré you'll need 2 coats of this for it to work properly (remember 2 thin coats is better than 1 thick coat).

3. Apply a metallic colour to the remaining nail/s.

4. Once the white nails are COMPLETELY DRY...they must be completely dry otherwise it just ends up like a smudgy mess as I found out the first time I tried this...opps! (I have no patience haha) Apply the 3 colours onto your sponge, I find its best to apply thick coats.

5. Press the sponge against your nail apply quite a bit of pressure when doing this, as soon as it is done apply the top coat from the tip of your nail applying it downwards towards the cuticle it can be a thick layer of this. This just helps to merge all the colours together. You can then do the same to the rest of the nails, just make sure that you re-apply the colours to the sponge each time.

6. Apply the glitter onto the top of the metallic colour, you can also apply a top coat too.
